Our global services are ready to support your teams wherever you operations may be, including North America, South America, Asia-Pacific and throughout Europe.
(HOUSTON, TX, NOVEMBER 8, 2017) – Alpha Completions Group expands services into the Asia-Pacific region, with the recent opening of Alpha Project Services in Geoje, South Korea. Geoje is a port city in the South Gyeongsang province, located just off the coast of Busan, South Korea.
Alpha will now be able to provide a full array of project services in South Korea with the recent office opening. The company’s core services will continue to be commissioning and certification, however this new location will expand its offerings to include material procurement, specialty commissioning services and in-country services for expats.
The company announced that Joon Choi has been assigned as Country Manager of Alpha Project Services. Mr. Choi lived in the US for over a decade and earned his Bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech University. Mr. Choi has been working in the Korean oil & gas service market for the past seven years and he brings significant local expertise to the new Alpha office.
“We are excited about expanding our services into this region and our team is optimistic about the opportunities ahead,” states Chris Abrusley, President, Alpha Completions Group. “The majority of our clients build their facilities in South Korea and this allows Alpha to provide personnel and services from the start of the project through start-up. In anticipation of three upcoming projects, we decided to move forward with the office. We are proud to welcome Mr. Choi as a valuable member of our Alpha family and grow our team in this important region.”
The new location provides clients the opportunity to minimize contracts and create efficiencies. With this expansion, clients are now able to contract with Alpha in the US or in the UK through Alpha Commissioning Services, Ltd, enabling the team to deliver services directly in South Korea through Alpha Project Services. “Unlike the typical manpower agencies in Korea,” Abrusley adds, “Alpha can sit across the table and discuss commissioning and certification with complete understanding. Traditional Western agencies are simply body-shops with no direct experience on projects and facility start-ups. Alpha has the experience and understanding to provide complete turn-key services without geographical, language or cultural boundaries.”
“I am very excited to join the Alpha group of companies by managing the expanded services in Korea for our current clients and soon-to-be future clients,” states Joon Choi, Country Manager of Alpha Project Services.
As the company expands its reach across Asia, Alpha Completions Group provides commissioning management, certification management and qualified personnel to support safe, effective and productive results for a variety of global clients.
(HOUSTON, TX, JUNE 27, 2016) – Alpha Completions Group will provide a full suite of commissioning services for the Hess Stampede TLP project in the Gulf of Mexico.
Discovered in 2005, the Stampede Field is located approximately 115 miles south of Fourchon, La., in the Gulf of Mexico (Green Canyon Blocks 468, 511 and 512). The field is located in approximately 3,500 feet of water, with a reservoir depth of 30,000 feet. The plan initially calls for six subsea production wells and four water injection wells from two subsea drill centers tied back to the Stampede Tension Leg Platform (TLP).
Alpha Completions provided commissioning planning services to Hess on the Stampede project during front-end engineering design (FEED). These services include development of onshore strategies, commissioning feasibility reviews of facility design, review and provisions of system handover drawings, cost estimates and project schedules. Through execution, Alpha will provide commissioning management and technician resources through to First Oil.
“We are excited to work with Hess on this important project,” states Bryan Broussard, Executive Vice-President, Alpha Completions Group. “Commissioning is a critical activity to prove the design, construction and technical integrity of the facility. The Hess teams display the highest standards for safety and quality construction – and we look forward to working with the Hess team as we transition into the field execution phase.”
Gross topsides processing capacity for the project is approximately 80,000 barrels of oil per day and 100,000 barrels of water injection capacity per day. Total gross estimated recoverable resources for Stampede are estimated in the range of 300–350 million barrels of oil equivalent.
As the project moves into the execution phase, Alpha Completions Group will provide commissioning management, certification management and qualified personnel to support a safe, effective and productive result for the project which anticipates first oil in 2018.
